I wanted to take a little time this morning to archive some of the statements I’ve proposed on SoapBoxxer. I agree with nearly all of them, though there are some where I have not determined a position on. Many of these have discussions and supporting rationale for both sides of the issue. To see details on a particular statement, use SoapBoxxer’s search function to find it.
- HDTV + HTPC > Cable
- I’ve got this sweet setup, it’s way better

- There’s plenty of fair use content on BT, and it’s fine to use it.
- Thin client computing will become mainstream in the business arena in the next 20 years
- God is real
- To know what you ought to do and not do it is sin
- This is strait out of scripture, of course. Ref: Jas 4:17
- Ron Paul should be president
- I’m a big Ron Paul supporter. People think he’s crazy, but whatever. He’s one of the only people who’s willing to bring this country back to the rule of law.
- As a nation, we should not be in the business of taking over other countries and setting up puppet governments
- A reference to Iraq. Obviously.
- If we go to war somewhere, we shouldn’t then clean up the mess we made of the place
- Why are we there again? Didn’t we bomb them for a reason?

- The economy of the United States of America is nearing collapse
- It is wrong to have an abortion even in the case of rape
- Regardless of the bad stuff that’s happened to you, it doesn’t give you the right to murder your unborn child.

- The “Just In Time” food distribution network is also a great weakness.
- There is evidence of a global flood
- Humanity is inherently inclined to evil
- This is what having a “sin nature” is all about
- Satan is a real, malevolent being bent on destruction
- Objective morality exists
- Objective morality proceeds from God
- Vengeance is just
- Totally. Justice is all about evening the scales, and so is vengeance. “Vengeance is mine. I will repay.” says the LORD.
- Mercy is virtuous
- Power is authority
- I don’t know if I agree with this one or not.
- Merit should be the basis for respect

- The obsequious despise the bold as the poor hate the rich, and the slave the freed man

- Human beings are ontologically superior to animals
- Such ontological superiority can only come from God, unless you attribute ontological superiority from material complexity.
- If we cannot rule out soul infusion at the moment of conception, any abortion may murder a living being
- Part of an argument against abortion, best understood in the context of another thread. An analogy follows…
- You should not blindly shoot a gun into a dark room full of pregnant women
- Related to the abortion debate.
- It is wrong to kill a healthy newborn human baby because it has ontological equality with an adult human
- Related to the abortion debate. When does the child have ontological equality? Is it at birth? If not, when? If so, why?

- We should send all of our criminals to Australia
- This is how Australia was populated, after all… j/k
- Executions should be televised
- From the thread: “Part of the reason for the death penalty is as a deterrent. This is obscured by the private nature of the executions. In more ‘primitive’ societies, they’d have public gallows and a crowd would gather for the show. Entertainment value aside, I think it would help deter crime by making the execution a visceral spectacle for the viewing public.”

- Etymology is usually interesting
- “My daughter is 8, and I was working on her vocabulary lesson with her. She was studying antonyms, homonyms, and synonyms. She was working on by (proximity), buy (purchase), and bye (farewell). She got the first two just fine, but the latter she spelled “bey” a couple of times. So since I happened to know the etymology for this word, I told it to her, and she was able to remember. “Bye” is a truncated form of “goodbye”, which itself is a compacted version of “God be with ye”. As the phrase turned into the word, the original meaning was a bit obscured, but even the truncated version has “ye” at the end, which is just another word for “you”. So if she can remember the etymology, she will do a better job with the spelling.”
