Games I want to play more of

  • Tigris & Euphrates: I keep on getting beat by Paul.
  • Through the Desert: This is a fun one, if a bit brain burny sometimes
  • Abalone
  • Quoridor: I’ve really only played this a couple of times with Audrial
  • Return of the Heroes: Only played it a couple of times with John, and it didn’t turn out all that well. Before I rid myself of it, I’ve got to play it a couple of more times to see how it really plays. I’m not sure I’m really into the ‘adventure’ genre in board games anymore.
  • Jambo
  • Puerto Rico Expansion: Never played it, actually. But I’ve played Puerto Rico a few times, and I’d like to see how this influences the game
  • Reef Encounter: I totally don’t understand the strategy for this game. I need to play it more. Plus I like it.
  • Dungeon Twister: A little on the burny side, but I think I like it. I need to play it a few more times.
  • Nexus Ops: Great fun, if unpredictable
  • Caylus: Excellent game, but it doesn’t see enough play time for some reason.
  • Lord of the Rings – The Confrontation: Deluxe Edition: I haven’t played this one enough to even familiarize myself with the strategy. I’d like to spend an evening on this one sometime
  • Battleground: Fantasy Warfare: Played it only once, and it didn’t go over well. I think this is a solid game though, and need to try it when not sleep deprived.
  • Wits & Wagers: My “gaming” friends haven’t had a chance to try this party game. I think this will be the next “light” one that I bring out for them.
  • End of the Triumvirate, The: 3p, only played 2x so far iirc.
  • Shogun: A favorite; needs to be brought out more.
  • StarCraft: The Board Game: Longer than most of my other games, way more plastic. Awesome game though … good weekend fodder.
  • BattleLore: I so need to play this more. I’ve only scratched the surface with this game. What dissuades me from playing it is the longer than normal setup time for the maps. Maybe M44 should go in here as well.
  • Scripts and Scribes: I need to start bringing this one along with my other card games. I think this will be a hit with a somber, light crowd.

Games that are primarily unplayed that need playing

  • Bohnanza: I’ve only played this with non-gamers, trying to learn the game, and it didn’t work out well. I need to bring this out with my regular gaming group and see how it goes.
  • Titan: Been like years since I’ve played this. Another long Saturday game, like Starcraft.
  • Condottiere
  • I’m the Boss: I’ve tried to bring this one out once before and we didn’t end up playing it. It’s time!
  • Taj Mahal: I can’t wait to play this one.
  • Talisman: I’m not sure I’ll like this one still, but I think John will really enjoy it.
  • Magestones: Been a really long time since I’ve played this game; need to give it a shot again to see if I should keep it
